June 23rd, 2011

Happy 5th Anniversary to my wonderful husband! We are headed to Niagara Falls but tonight we are going to celebrate with the kids by having dinner at Moes. That is our favorite restaurant, for sure! Welcome to Moes!!

Luna has not been feeling well all day. She woke up at 3am fussing but was able to go back to sleep once she came into our bed. She woke up with Matt around 7:30 ish and wanted me to hold her. Every time I tried to put her down she would start crying. She kept saying, "hold you, hold you!" She's not running a fever. I just hope she feels better soon. I absolutely hate it when my babies are not feeling well! Hopefully with some rest, fluids and lots of love she will be back on top tomorrow. We might have to get take out from Moes.
Feel better, baby girl!

We just got home from my sister's house. We were visiting with Kelita who is 29 weeks pregnant. The whole family is very excited about the newest edition, Caleb. Jacek asks me almost everyday, "Mom, is Caleb coming today?" He's very excited to have another cousin.

Jacek's hair grows faster than weeds. It's been a couple of months since his last haircut and I usually take him every 6 weeks. I told him, "Jace, your hair is getting long. I'm going to have to cut it." I was totally kidding when I said this but he insisted that I cut his hair. I have never cut his hair before. Matt has done it a couple of times in the past but we usually leave it up to the professionals. He went and found m sister's clippers and was ready for his hair cut. I thought that maybe I could pull it off... maybe? I clipped on the #3 setting and started buzzing. Gobs and gobs of hair were falling on the floor. That's when I realized that I probably should have used a #4 or #5. After about 15 minutes of Jacek squirming and asking, "are you done, yet?" I finally finished my master piece. I brushed off all the lose hair from Jacek and he went to look in the mirror. He started to cry and said, "I want my old hair back!" Yikes! I explained to him that his hair grows super fast and it will be back by Monday. I just hope he's used to his buzz by then. He still looks way, super handsome just with a lot less hair!
I think from now on, I will leave the haircutting up to the professionals. They are trained and qualified! I am not, clearly!

June 22nd, 2011

It's been an interesting one, that's for sure! The electric went out yesterday and I was forced to be creative and come up with ways to keep the kids entertained. They have never experienced the impact of a power outage. Luna did not understand why she could not watch Yo Gabba Gabba and Jacek was mad because he wanted to play Nick Jr. games on the Internet. We all sat there for a minute thinking the power was going to come back on but it did not. We decided to play cards. I went to find a deck of cards and the only ones I could find were 'Cutty Sark' with a pinup girl on the cards. They were just excited to play cards. We were playing highest card wins the round and whoever has all the cards, wins the game. Well, my babies started to catch on that face cards and Aces always win. So, they would use the same card over and over until I was out of cards. The game would have been endless; it was very cute though.

Isis, our sweet and elusive cat, was terrified of the thunderstorms. She decided to come upstairs to try and receive some comfort. Luna freaked out, "Isis!" She runs over to the cat and lays directly on top of her. The cat would usually run back downstairs but she really tried to stick it out. I kept saying, "Luna, leave the cat alone!" Luna becomes instantly deaf when an animal is in the room. She just loves animals so much! Isis heads for the bathroom to try and get some space. I see Luna walking out of the bathroom holding Isis. The cat was more terrified of Luna than the storms and retreated back downstairs.

We played Simon Says and I read "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" twice. The kids were starting to get hungry and I wasn't sure what I was going to prepare. I couldn't cook anything. We ended up having salad, apples and cheese and crackers. That's a healthier meal than I would have cooked. After a couple games of "kicky" the electric finally came back on. I decided to the leave the TVs, computers and video games off until the kids realized the correlation. It was neat to switch up the day and enjoy life without electricity. I had fun but the kids had fun, too. Imagine that, fun without TVs and computers on a rainy day. I'm looking forward to our next rainy day... it might be today!

June 2oth, 2011

What a great day I had with the kids. We woke up this morning to major thunderstorms and a lot of rain. Rainy days are hard days in this house because when my kids get bored they fight. The goal for today simple: keep the kids busy! Jacek wanted to play dress up and disappeared for about 5 minutes only to return wearing this:
Most impressive grasshopper! This is Luna's 2t sleeper that he somehow managed to zip up. He then went into his closet and about 5 minutes later came back out wearing this:

The size of this snowsuit is 12 months! I laughed so hard! Luna then proceeded to drag Jacek by his feet into circles.
Then it was Luna's turn for dress-up but she just wanted to wear a snow hat with a sun dress. Man, she can really rock a snow hat!

She has some serious style! The kids were done with dress up and ready for something else. I decided to hop on YouTube and do some Zumba workouts. It was hysterical. Luna sat in the computer chair staring blankly at the crazy Zumba instructor while Jacek and I danced our butts off. It wasn't a bad workout considering I usually find work outs impossible with the kids unless I'm at the gym. It was a success! It rained a lot today. Just when I thought it coming to an end another storm would come rolling across the sky! Finally, the rain had stopped and we went outside and enjoyed an afternoon snack. A very messy snack!

Jacek loves to cross his eyes in almost every picture. It's a rare picture when those eyes are not crossed. While they ate their Popsicles I was able to get some weeding done. It is now time to cook something for dinner. I now know why I have so much laundry. There were many costume changes today. We had a great day!

Meet Luna

Luna Grace, what an absolute delight! She was the best baby; she was such a happy girl. She hardly cried and when she did she was easily consoled. Luna just goes with the flow. She doesn't fight the current, she enjoys the ride. She has a natural charm about her that let's her get away with things that most children would not. She is also absolutely beautiful which combined with the charm is basically a free pass. She is 2 now and she is starting to have her own voice and opinions. She's been dishing that Luna attitude that I love. She'll try to have a melt down but within 2 minutes she is back to laughing about something. She gets really mad  though when she starts fussing and Jacek mocks her cry. That is immediately followed by a pretty impressive scream.

She is so funny to watch. She loves to play pretend and she loves to cook and clean. She also loves to read books but her most favorite thing is Jacek, her big brother. Sometimes they fight but most of the time they love being around each other. They have a cute game they made up called "kicky". Luna lays on one end of the bed and Jacek on the other. They count to three and start kicking each other while laughing hysterically. Luna is obsessed with Lady Gaga; her favorite song is 'Telephone". Luna LOVES animals! She loves all dogs, cats and every animal at the zoo. I really think she will have an occupation involving animals. She is extremely compassionate about cats and dogs. I always joke that we should start saving for vet school. She will do great things in this world no matter what. I love everything about crazy, goofy, sweet Luna.

Meet Jacek

Jacek is one of a kind. As much as I like to think that I have some sway with Jacek, he does things on his terms and his way. He was born 6 weeks early and he was my little fighter. He still has the same fight in him today and I love it. That fight/ fire that is within him is the reason he is alive. He is not a quitter. He is extremely determined and whatever he wants from this life shall be his. Jacek is brilliant beyond his years and he has such a unique sense of humor that many people cannot get enough of him. He has always left a strong impression on friends, family and even strangers.

I love watching him develop more and more each day. He idolizes his cousin Michael. They have been extremely close since Jacek was born.  Jacek also adores his little sister; they have such a strong connection. They are best friends even though Jacek would never admit it. Jacek is such a great big brother. He's a great role model for Luna and she wants to be just like him. I love watching Jacek patiently try to explain something to Luna. They understand each other in a way that no one else in this world will ever understand.
What I find most fascinating about Jacek is that he has never fit a mold. Most children hit milestones around certain ages but Jacek hit his milestones when he was ready, some were early and some were later. He is my little sweetheart and a mommy's boy, for sure! Jacek is Jacek and I love him with all that I am. I love his smile, his eyes, his sarcasm, his singing, his dancing, his creativity, his power, his fire, his little button nose and his wild and crazy heart and hair!

The meaning of Jacek: A male form of the hyacinth flower

Finally a blog for my babies!

These are my beautiful babies, Jacek and Luna. They bring so much joy to my life everyday; they are exceptionally amazing. Jacek and Luna are constantly saying hilarious things or doing wild, crazy and sometimes unbelievable things that I find it necessary to share with you. (I'm also convinced that I'm going to have Alzheimer's one day and I would like to remember these little flashes of life that mean so much to me!)

Some of you may or may not know that I have another blog (Memory Hole) and it's not exactly kid friendly. I discuss many things that I have went through in my life, mainly in a sarcastic, perverted jest, but I kept finding myself wanting to write about my babies more and more. So, here it is: Blog number 2- Flower Luna.

Yes, I know I am bias but I have the most amazing kids in the world. I am the luckiest!
